1. About these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sandlight Travels website (www.sandlighttravels.co.uk) and any bookings, products, or services you purchase through us. By accessing the website or making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Sandlight Travels, a travel agency based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. “You” and “your” refer to the person accessing the website or making a booking.
2. Our Role as a Travel Agent
Sandlight Travels acts as an agent for third-party suppliers including hotels, airlines, tour operators, cruise lines, transfer providers, and insurers. We arrange travel services on your behalf and your contract for the travel service itself is with the supplier providing it. The supplier's own terms and conditions, including their cancellation, refund, and luggage policies, will apply to your booking in addition to these Terms.
Where we package two or more travel services together (for example flight + hotel), additional protections under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 may apply. We will tell you at the time of booking whether your arrangement is a “package”, a “linked travel arrangement”, or a single component sale.
3. Booking and Payment
A binding contract is formed when we issue a booking confirmation in response to your request and payment has been received in full or in accordance with the deposit terms displayed at checkout. You are responsible for ensuring that all names, dates, and other details on your booking match the travel documents (passports, visas) of every traveller.
Prices are quoted in the currency shown on the booking page and may include or exclude taxes, fees, and surcharges as indicated. Prices and availability are not guaranteed until full payment has been received and the booking has been confirmed by the supplier.
4. Cancellations, Amendments and Refunds
Cancellation and amendment rights are determined by the supplier of the travel service and the rate type you booked. Some rates are non-refundable; others permit free cancellation up to a deadline shown at the time of booking and on your booking confirmation. Where free cancellation is available, you may cancel through your account or by contacting us before the deadline shown.
Refunds, where due, will be processed back to the original payment method. Processing times vary between suppliers and payment processors and typically take 5–14 working days. Sandlight Travels does not charge an additional administration fee for cancellations made within the supplier's free-cancellation window.
5. Passports, Visas and Health
It is your responsibility to ensure that you and every traveller in your party hold valid passports, any required visas, and meet all health and entry requirements for your destination, including any applicable transit countries. We recommend consulting the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice) and the NHS Fit for Travel service before you travel. Sandlight Travels accepts no liability for losses arising from your failure to obtain the correct travel documentation.
6. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for every booking and is mandatory for some destinations. Your policy should cover medical expenses, repatriation, cancellation, and personal liability. Sandlight Travels is not responsible for losses that would have been covered by an appropriate insurance policy.
7. Liability
Where we act solely as an agent, our liability is limited to the careful selection of suppliers and the correct processing of your booking. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, or default of any third-party supplier.
Where we sell you a package within the meaning of the Package Travel Regulations 2018, our liability is governed by those Regulations. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, civil unrest, terrorism, natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, industrial action, airspace closures, or governmental actions.
8. Use of the Website
You agree to use the Sandlight Travels website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of any other person. You must not use the website to make speculative, false, or fraudulent bookings. We reserve the right to refuse access, cancel orders, or delete accounts at our sole discretion.
All content on the website — including text, graphics, logos, photographs, and software — is owned by Sandlight Travels or our licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright laws.
9. Complaints
If you experience a problem during your trip, please notify the supplier (e.g. hotel reception) immediately so they have an opportunity to put things right. If the matter cannot be resolved locally, please contact us within 28 days of returning home at info@sandlighttravels.co.uk so we can investigate.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you reside in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you make a booking is the version that applies to that booking. The current version is always published on this page.
